Madrid born and London educated, Carmen Rivero is an established designer with over fifteen years experience in all aspects of design. Carmen initially worked in the fashion industry, where she launched her own fashion label and clothes shop. Additionally, Carmen acted as a stylist and art director for several interior design magazines including House & Garden and Arquitecture & Decoration.
Whilst studying her Degree in 3D Design and MA in Furniture Design, Carmen worked in the role of Creative Buyer for a number of Madrid based interior design retailers specialising in 20th Century design. In the UK Carmen has worked for several design and architectural practices on projects such as American franchised hotel chains - Express by Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson and Ramada Hotels, Restaurants, Retail spaces, Spas and Airlines - being responsible for the new cabin interiors of Iberia and British Airways.
As a designer she loves objects, light and colour, with a particular preference to combine the past, the future with her own taste and appreciation of contemporary luxury.
Since her move back to Madrid in 2005, Carmen has worked in a freelance capacity as brand and interior designer for renowned practices such as Interbrand and Addison. More recently she is combining her airlines jobs with her work with Vidal y Asociados arquitectos and her position as a lecturer at IED - Istituto Europeo di Design - (Madrid).
